A friend of mine sent me the following quote (if you know the original author let me know) but it went something like “You are art: create yourself over and over.”
If you’ve ever read the Bible the concept of God’s creation being art is a concept illustrated in Ephesians 2:10 where it says:
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
I don’t know about you but I don’t often feel like a masterpiece. Life has had a way of keeping me down and focusing on my labels and healing journey rather than my core value and significance. Or perhaps you feel valued in and of yourself but toxic Christian influencers or pastors pop up on your social media feeds and tell you self-love, self-care, self-confidence, are sinful. That you are actually nothing at all.
I can’t single-handedly right every wrong and I don’t have the platform and magnitude that these naysayers do, but if you happen to stumble upon my little page – I hope you are encouraged that you are infinitely significant. Even more so that you were created for greatness and beauty and just like the physical practice of creating art, you can keep re-making yourself over and over. We were not made to stay stagnant or stuck in one mindset, one job, one season of life.
